A stylish 19th century double horseshoe nail brooch.
Circa 1880/1900; The brooch is designed with two horseshoe nails entwined together to create a horseshoe shape!
One nail is smooth 18ct gold, the other is set with a mixture of sparkling old cut and rose cut diamonds, and topped with two beautiful faceted rubies.
The design is so elegant, with superior workmanship.
It looks epic on a lapel or neckline.
The Horseshoe nail is a symbol to remember to look at the small things!
‘Small actions can have great consequences’
The poem ‘For the want of a nail’ was quoted by Benjamin Franklin;
“For the want of a nail the shoe was lost,
For the want of a shoe the horse was lost,
For the want of a horse the rider was lost,
For the want of a rider the battle was lost,
For the want of a battle the kingdom was lost,
And all for the want of a horseshoe-nail.”
