A super chunky 19th century ‘gold rush’ nugget pendant.

This totally unique shaped specimen of natural gold is likely to have been found during one of the famous ‘gold rushes’ that took place during the mid 19th century in; Australia, California, and then Klondike, Alaska.

Each nugget is thought to be approximately 70-90% pure gold, naturally mixed with other metals such as silver, copper and palladium.

In this specimen you can see natural mineral deposits embedded within the gold! These could be parts of the host rock where the gold was taken from, or mixtures of quartz and hematite which are also often found in natural gold. It makes this piece even more unusual and unique.

The pendant is a really great size, and hangs from a large gold bail, making it easy to add to any chain.

I’m a huge fan of nugget jewellery!

Looks epic worn alone or with  a bunch of charms.
