A gorgeous 19th century mother of pearl shell pendant.
The shell is made of carved mother of pearl on both sides, which illuminates beautifully in the light.
The scalloped edge and top of the shell is studded with turquoise.
The reverse has a tiny locket which opens to reveal the cavity of the shell. Perfect to keep a secret!
The frame is made of gold with a slight rose patina.
The pendant hangs from a gold micro belcher chain and bail making it easy to add to your favourite chain.
Similar in style to the Palais Royal jewellery of Paris, which was sold in during 19th century to wealthy travellers as souvenirs.
Renowned for its high quality craftsmanship and ornate intricate designs.
