A lovely 19th century French Saint Esprit Dove pendant.

The dove is encrusted with faceted paste stones that sparkly fantastically.

The paste stones are varied sizes with large stones for the body, wings and head, and smaller for the wing tips and tail.

The Dove is diving downwards from a paste bow surmount. Which has a good size silver bail on the reverse, making it easy to add to most chains.

The pendant is set in silver, with a lovely slightly rounded back.

The reverse has two small worn hallmarks of the French Boars head for silver.

Representing the Holy Spirit, this popular peace symbol in the form of a dove was known as a Saint Esprit.

It was popular in the late 18th Century/ early 19th Century originating in France.
