A super cool late Victorian twisting calendar propelling pencil pendant by Sampson Morden & Co.
The pencil is made of 9ct gold, with a push top that propels the pencil out when pushed - called a ‘gravity drop’ mechanism.
The body of the pendant is heptagonal (7 sided).
The centre has an integral twisting perpetual calendar with bright blue enamelled numbers and letters for the days of the week, with Sunday standing out in a gothic red script.
The shaft of the pendant has a lovely tactile engine turned texture.
The pencil can be worn easily as a pendant using the chunky jump ring to add to your chain
The design is super modern, yet over 100 years old.
Looks epic on basically any chain.
Hallmarked S.Mordan & Co, 9ct
Amazingly the pencil still has the original lead.
