Victorian period
A super stylish 19th Century bracelet made of 18ct gold and Malachite.
The design has a nod to the Archeological revival styles that were extremely popular in the middle to late 19th Century.
The bright 18ct gold is woven in a foxtail link chain, from which five graduated Malachite spheres are suspended.
The spheres are surmounted by collars around the chain that have fine rope detailing.
The clasp is a barrel that is hinged at the centre to ensure the bracelet moulds around the wearers wrist.
A partial makers mark is visible on the tongue.
Jewellers of the 19th Century had a fascination with historical design.
Designers looked to Etruscan, ancient Roman, Byzantine, and Medieval styles for inspiration for their designs.
This wonderful period of jewellery became extremely popular from mid 19th Century onwards
