A wonderful pair of 19th century Amethyst and turquoise earrings, with snake tops.
The late georgian earring drops are made of faceted Amethyst stones with a light lilac tone.
The stones are surrounded by high carat gold filigree frames with bright blue turquoise finials at the base.
The reverse of the earrings are closed settings with a beautiful crosshatched gold.
The tops, which are likely a slightly later addition (circa 1870) are high carat gold with wonderful boggle eyed snake finials.
The snakes hold the drops from their mouths.
The earrings are light, so really comfortable to wear.
The combination for the gold snakes with the lilac and turquoise stones looks beautiful when worn.
