Georgian period
A super cool Mano Cornuto hand pendant (think rock hand symbol).
The horned hand, which resembles a horned animal, is made by extending the index and little finger while clenching the other two fingers and thumb.
It’s so rare to find these with the extended fingers!!! Especially in this fantastic condition!!!
The hand pendant dates from the early 19th century, circa 1830
The large coral hand wears a tiny gold bracelet with a cabochon turquoise, and is clasping a gold ring from which eight coral amulets are hung.
The amulets include; a sleeping dog, a cornucopia, a finned fish, a cross and a Punchinello head.
The 'Mano Cornuto' or 'Horned Hand' is an ancient Italian amulet which was worn for protection against the Evil Eve.
Looks epic on a fine to medium chain!!!
