A super cool early 19th century fob pendant with carnelian intaglio seal.

The carnelian intaglio reads in French

‘RIEN SANS PEINE’

Which translates to ‘NOTHING WITHOUT PAIN’

The stone has a naive image of a cherub flying / jumping above needles or brambles.

The fob case is closed back, and is adorned with scallop shells and ribbons, the stem is ornate with scrolls up to the bail.

The chain can be passed through the integral bail, or through the additional jump ring, so you can decide which way the seal sits when worn.

Looks great worn on either a short or long chain.

I feel we can all relate to this motto at the moment! No pain, no gain.
