A pretty French enamel ring from the first half of the 19th Century.
The ring is made of 18ct gold, and has an enamelled Pansy ‘Penseé’ design which is flanked by shell scrolls.
The enamel is in an array of colours of green, blue, white and red.
The ‘Penseé’ motif was popular in jewellery from France and translates as ‘thoughts’
These rings were often gifted to a loved one as a gesture of thoughtfulness.
The ring has two partially legible hallmarks on the shank.
Looks lovely alone, but also works as a good stacker ring.
