This is a really pretty Halley’s comet brooch, made of old cut diamonds open set in silver, and backed in high carat gold!
The head resembles a flower cluster, the tail with a single old cut diamond.
The reverse has a pin with a discreet safety catch.
Size approx: 2.5cm x 1.3cm
Halley’s Comet jewellery is highly collectible.
Made late in the Georgian period, it is named after Sir Edmund Halley who discovered a comet in 1705. When it next appeared in 1835 the sighting was commemorated with comet style jewels.
