This is a lovely example of a Georgian Ouroboros snake brooch circa 1810.

Made with a crosshatch gold snake around the edge of a carnelian stone. With the snake eating his own tail.

The Carnelian has a lovely mottle of two tones of orange.

Crafted in 9ct gold with a closed back setting.
