19TH CENTURY CHUNKY MOTHER OF PEARL & 15CT GOLD BASKET PENDANT

Victorian period: 

A 19th century, Mother of Pearl basket pendant, with a 15ct gold top and handle. Circa 1830/40

The Mother of Pearl has been beautifully carved to look like wicker, and catches the light perfectly to  show all the lovely hues of the Mother of Pearl.

The basket is in excellent condition with a hinged high carat gold top that opens on both sides of a central hinge.

The top is finely chased with a foliate design.

The handle is a twisted rope in  high carat gold

Looks gorgeous on a simple chain.
