VICTORIAN PEARL PAVÉ HEART BROOCH

A large Victorian Pearl heart brooch set in 15ct gold. 

The pearls are pavé set over the entire piece.

The reverse of the brooch is made of 15ct gold, with a curious inscription;

The brooch bears the date ‘1872-1900’, and above has an engraved bar of music with the notes GB AF.

Maybe someone’s initials, maybe part of a favourite song.

Who knows what secret message was encrypted in these musical notes.

Fitted with the original brooch pin on the reverse.

Such a lovely piece, that makes the mind wander as to the meaning and the history of the piece.
