THREE COLOUR VICTORIAN WEDGWOOD PENDANT

This is a beautiful three colour Wedgwood  pendant.

The double sided pendant depicts Asclepius and Apollo surrounded by a foliage border.

The octagonal shape of the pendant is really unique.

Set with a high carat gold border and bail.

In Ancient Greek religion and mythology;

Asclepius is a hero and god of medicine, and  represents healing.

He is the son of Apollo, who is one of the 12 Olympian deities.

Apollo is seen as the god of archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and diseases.
