A great scale Victorian horseshoe pendant with a supercool inscription.
The reverse of the pendant is inscribed with ‘Slow Race’ ‘P.B.C. June 2nd 79’
This is the type of race I could get on board with!!! Or maybe it’s a personal note. Either way it’s a great sentiment to live by!
It’s really nice to be able to date the piece to 1879 too!
The horseshoe is made of yellow 15ct gold that has a slightly matte finish.
The horseshoe nails are depicted as raised rectangles, which are super chunky. They have a slightly more rose tone which makes them stand out from the yellow gold background of the horseshoe, and makes the pendant look really contemporary.
With the traditional four nails on one side and three on the other, the horseshoe is a symbol of good luck.
The pendant looks great on a simple chain alone, or with a bunch of pendants.
