A gorgeous Edwardian high carat gold, diamond and enamel cockerel pendant.

The cockerel has a flame red enamel comb and wattle, and a yellow enamel beak.

His entire head is encrusted with sparkling rose cut diamonds that are silver set, and he has a cabochon ruby eye.

The whole pendant is backed with 15ct gold. 

The cockerel or rooster was a popular motif during the Victorian and Edwardian era.

They were seen as a symbol of courage, strength and resilience.

The cockerels crow at dawn is seen as a new start and a triumph over the darkness of the night.
