VICTORIAN DIAMOND & RUBY SWALLOW BIRD PENDANT

A super pretty Victorian Swallow bird pendant made of 15ct gold.

The birds body is set with four rose cut diamonds,  and the wings are set with gorgeous bright pink faceted rubies.

The settings are open back, allowing plenty of light to enter the stones for maximum sparkle.

The contrast of the ‘salt & pepper’ diamonds, the bright pink rubies and yellow gold is just beautiful!

Swallow jewellery was often given to loved ones as they set out on a journey as a token to keep them safe.

The bird was a symbol of love and protection to help ensure their safe return.

This originated from sailors who used swallows as a sign of homecoming. The sighting of one of these birds meant that land was near.
