A dainty Victorian Elephant hair bangle in the shape of a horseshoe!!!
This very cool bangle is made of two strands of
elephant hair which are held together by high carat rolled gold crimp connectors.
The bracelet closes with a matching gold mini ‘S’ hook!
Elephant hair jewellery became popular late in the 19th century.
The single strand of hair was taken from the elephants tail, and wrapped in gold.

MATERIALS
Elephant hair & rolled gold
Rolled gold was first created in England in the 19th century. It is made by fusing sheets of 9ct or higher gold either side of a base metal.
The metals are heat bonded then rolled into flat sheets.
Rolled gold has around 100 times more gold content, than plated gold.
