An adorable Victorian enamel cat pendant.

Circa 1870; The cat has been painted by hand, with every brush stroke visible. He has a gorgeously grumpy expression on his face.

Painted on a forget-me-not blue enamel, the portrait of the cat stands out beautifully against the background.

I’m unsure what he started off life as, the reverse is concave with a silver gilt rim. But it works perfectly as a pendant, which has had a high carat gold jump ring added.

It’s rare to find cat related Victorian pieces, so I was extremely happy to find this guy!
