VICTORIAN ENAMEL SNAKE NECKLACE

This is a beautiful Victorian enamel, pearl and high carat gold barrel necklace, circa 1850/60.
The chain links are a striking blue Forget-Me-Not enamel, alternating with natural pearls.
The chain has its original pendant - a blue enamel cross with pearl findings, and a chased high carat gold snake wrapped around.
Of course he has boggle eyes 👀
The barrel is also original, and closes seamlessly making the links continuous around the neck.
The necklace is in great condition- there are 3 barrels that have had the enamel repaired but these are very well matched - see photos for condition.
