A super cool, super sized Victorian ‘Bramah’ key pendant.
Made of 15ct gold the chunky key design is so clean and simple.
The key has the Bramah signature incised castle turret bit end, a sleek shaft and a simple bow.
The key extends into a pencil which just needs the led adding to make it functional.
Once extended the lozenge mark is revealed, which shows the key pendant was registered on 8th June 1874!!!
The Bramah lock was invented by Joseph Bramah in 1784.
It became famous as the first key and lock to be ‘unpickable’.
The Bramah locks were used for many purposes, but very often for jewellery boxes.
The keys would be worn around the owners neck disguised as a piece of jewellery.
