A charming 18th century miniature sepia portrait ring.
The ring portrays a country scene with a donkey trotting along a bridge, surrounded by trees and a cottage.
I have never seen one of these illustrations with a donkey before!
The ring is bordered with hand cut pyrites that twinkle in the light
The ring is completely original with a beautifully crafted 9ct gold original shank.
The revere is inscribed with cursive script: ‘Rob’t Cliffe Esq Died May 1st 1779, aged 35’
The ring does show signs of wear to the pyrites and there are some chips and surface scratches to the original glass.
The ring had such a charming scene, and I absolutely adore the Donkey!
