19TH CENTURY FRENCH MUSSEL SHELL VINAIGRETTE PENDANT

A simply stunning 19th century French mussel shell vinaigrette pendant.

The organically 3D modelled 18ct gold mussel has alternating bands of deep blue enamel with foliate chased 18ct gold.

The shell opens to reveal a tiny pierced vinaigrette grill, which hinges open to the gold the compartment beneath.

Hallmarked with the French eagles head to confirm 18ct gold

Looks wonderful hung from a simple chain.
