A very cool Maritime signal bracelet circa 1930.

These bracelets use the International Code of Signals to spell out secret acrostic messages.

The message is created by using the corresponding flag for each letter of the message!

This one spells out the name ‘ELIZABETH’

Each flag is beautifully enamelled in bright colours on a 9ct gold setting.

The flags are joined by a double fine cable link chain.

And the clasp is cleverly hidden behind one of the flags.

This bracelet was made by Benzie of Cowes who were renowned for creative, nautical-themed fine jewellery during the late 19th and early 20th century.

These secretive designs were traditionally given as gifts to loved ones to hide a secret message.

Each flag is hallmarked for 9ct gold with the London hallmark date 1934.

The clasp bears the makers mark ‘Benzie’

A very cool piece of history which is in excellent condition!
