A completely unique antique locket made of Blue John and a George III 18th century 22ct gold spade guinea coin.
The front of the locket has a fantastic domed specimen of Blue John, which is a variety of Fluorite, only found in a tiny area in Derbyshire, England, making it extremely rare and desirable.
The Blue John shows wonderful bands of purple, blue, and golden yellow.
This locket has been cut to feature a streak of purple across the centre! With an old cut diamond set in the middle to create extra sparkle.
The reverse of the locket incorporates an original 18th century spade Guinea coin which is made of 22ct gold.
The coin features the laureate head of King George Ill with the Latin inscription “GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA".
The inside of the locket shows the reverse of the coin recognizable by the distinct spade-shaped crowned shield displaying four coat of arms.
The locket also has a glass frame lined with the original blue silk. Perfect for adding a photo.
This locket is a one off, likely designed by the owner during the mid 19th century.
It looks so cool worn either way round to show the Blue John or the spade guinea.
