ANTIQUE SILVER ACORN & DOG CLIP CHAIN EXTENDER / BAIL

This is an antique silver acorn and dog clip chain extender / bail, circa 1900/1910! 

Made of silver, the plump acorn has a stippled surface over the cup and smooth silver for the nut.

The silver dog clip is attached to the tip of the acorn, making this the ideal chain extender.

The piece is super versatile as it also works really well as a bail to add pendants to a chain.

The acorn was a popular symbol during the Victorian era, and has continued to be popular into the 20th century.

They symbolised; Fertility, growth and strength.
