ANTIQUE SILVER & ENAMEL ‘I ASK NO MORE’ RING

A very cool antique silver and coloured enamel band ring.

Likely mid to late 19th century, the domed silver band is engraved in a gothic script that reads, “I ask no more.”

This sentimental inscription has each gothic letter enamelled in a combination of deep blue, red and green.

The lettering is flanked by a red heart on one side and a hand on the other

The inside of the shank has the makers mark ‘M&B’ and a sterling silver hallmark.

Coloured enamel of this type was popular during the latter part of the 19th century which was referred to as the ‘gothic revival’ period.

I love the sentiment of being content with our lot, regardless of what that is.

Looks very cool alone or stacked with other rings
