ANTIQUE CHUNKY ‘IVY & ROSE’ MOTIF 18CT GOLD RING

A superb 18ct gold domed band ring made in London 1919.

The ring has stunning heavy chasing all over with a continuous motif of ivy leaves and roses all the way around the band.

Both these motifs were used as symbols to convey love!

Roses symbolise true love, and Ivy was associated with the saying; ‘ I cling to thee’ representing unbreakable bonds in love and friendship.

The hallmark inside the shank is lovely and crisp, for London 1919, 18ct gold.

The makers mark is indistinct but starts ‘WW’

The ring is a beautiful colour and design in fantastic condition.

It’s nice and chunky so works well alone or as a stacker.

A lovely sentimental piece.
