EARLY 19TH CENTURY PINCHBECK BELCHER CHAIN

A fantastic Georgian chunky Pinchbeck belcher chain with the original matching barrel clasp.

The links have a beautiful raised crosshatch pattern, giving the chain a gorgeous texture, which is also present on the large matching barrel clasp.

The links are a large scale, so the chain makes a fantastic impact when worn!

It also is a great length for every day wear.

The barrel clasp has pretty lilac paste stones. Which sparkle gently against the gold.

The clasp is very secure, closing with a reassuring click.

Circa 1820/30

Pinchbeck is a brass alloy. That looks very similar to gold, and doesn’t tarnish like other metal alloys.

It was invented in the early 18th century by Christopher Pinchbeck, a London clock- and watch-maker.

It is collectible in its own right!
