A large oval early Victorian glass intaglio depicting Cupid playing the lyre, whilst astride a Lion.
This allegory depicts Strength (the Lion) tamed by Love (Cupid).
Which is a wonderful ethereal sentiment!
The clear glass intaglio has been set in a very simple 18ct gold setting, to allow the story of the piece to take centre stage.
