GEORGIAN 15CT GOLD & DIAMOND HAND CLASP / PENDANT

A stunning Georgian Regency hand pendant / clasp made in 15ct bi-coloured gold.

Circa 1820; the hand is a larger scale than I usually find, it had been modelled beautifully in 3D so looks great from all angles.

The fingers are gracefully poised, and a diamond ring is worn upon the index finger.

The cuff is covered in a raised acanthus leaf design which covers the majority of the front of the long cuff.

The back of the cuff has a pretty foliate border and design. All the cuff detailing is in a bright yellow gold, which stands out against the richer gold of the hand.

The fine stippled texture of the hand can also be seen between the leaves of the cuff.

The hand is still a working clasp, so the tongue clicks into the top of the cuff, and there is a loop on the back of the palm making this ideal to use as a fastening or extender on your favourite chain.

The hand hangs from a gold chased split ring, making it very easy to add to any chain.

This is a wonderful example of an early hand in fantastic condition.

The Georgians often used the hand motif as a symbol for loyalty, fortune and strength.
