A rare Ouroboros snake 15ct gold split ring.

This is a fabulous Georgian split ring, circa 1820/30, modelled as an Ouroboros snake biting his tail.

The ring has cross hatching along the snakes body, and a carved head.

This piece can be used to add charms to a chain, or, worn as a ring.

The Ouroboros has been a popular symbol since ancient times. Literally meaning ‘tail-devourer’.

The Ouroboros represented the concept of ‘eternity’ and ‘love everlasting’,.
