Georgian period

A large Georgian gold fob with a carnelian intaglio seal.

The seal has a gorgeous Talbot passant, stood upon a large shield coat of arms which is draped in foliage.

The Talbot is a dog of an extinct light-coloured breed of hound with large ears and heavy jaws.

This particular crest can be found in the ‘Fairbairns book of family crests’

And is attributed originally to the Talbot family.

This is a solid gold fob made of 15ct gold.

The fob stem has a gorgeous fleur-de-lis detail.

Circa 1830

The size is perfect to hang from a chain to make a statement on its own or to be added to part of a neck mess.
