A charming late Georgian seed pearl starfish brooch in its original fitted box.

The brooch is in the shape of a starfish or star, it is made of layers of tiny seed pearls sewn together with clear thread upon a mother of pearl plate.

The brooch is fitted with a good quality pin that is in great working order, making it easy to add to your favourite jacket lapel.

The original box is moulded leather with a mint velvet and cream silk interior.

CONDITION

Excellent - there are a few historical repairs to the mother of pearl plate at the corners of the star- see pictures

The box is in good condition and opens and closed using the press button.

There is some damage to the leather around the press button - the layers are separated - see picture.

Bracelets & Bangles:

How your bracelet fits is a personal preference.
To check your preferred size, wrap a tape measure loosely around your wrist to the tightness you would like your bracelet to fit.
From the end of the tape measure to the point where it crosses the tape is your desired bracelet length.
Please compare this to the measurements specified on each of our bracelet product pages.
Note, some bracelets are adjustable – this will be mentioned in the description.
Note, if a bangle does not have an opening, you must select one that will pass over your fist.

The measurement will be in cm and inches.
We recommend you place a tape around your neck to see where the chain will sit.

JEWELLERY CARE

Antique Jewellery should be taken care of during wear.

Cleaning and repairs should be carried out by an antique jewellery specialist.

We recommend removing pieces of jewellery before washing hands or showering, as water can damage the antique settings.

Some pieces are not recommended for everyday wear

The Old Cut guarantees the piece up until the new customer receives the item.

Any stones that are lost or damaged during wear are not covered by The Old Cut. These will be charged for replacement, we can of course help find a suitable jeweller to support repairs.
