A rare Ouroboros Snake split ring made of 15ct yellow gold.

This is a fabulous Georgian split ring, circa 1820/30, with the finest snake head modelled as an Ouroboros snake biting his tail.

The ring has fine cross hatching along the snakes body, and a stylised head and eyes.

This piece can be used to add charms to a chain, or can be worn as a ring. This one makes the perfect stacker ring.

The Ouroboros has been a popular symbol since ancient times. Literally meaning ‘tail-devourer’.

The Ouroboros represented the concept of ‘eternity’ and ‘love everlasting’,.
