A wonderful Queen Anne faceted peach paste pendant circa 1760.
The chunk of paste reflects a bright, peachy orange/pink glow which is intensified by the metallic foil backed setting.
The paste is set in a domed, closed back gilt metal mount with a tiny saw tooth crimp edge, typical of Queen Anne paste jewellery.
Although the vibrant paste of this type is referred to as Queen Anne, it actually dates to after her death of 1714. It started to be seen from 1730 and was popular through the rest of the 18th century.
Over the centuries, the foil on this pendant has been affected by moisture and air creating a crazed surface visible within the glass.
It is such a stunning colour, and the light reflects off the foils surface beautifully.
The pendant hangs from a 9ct gold chunky jump ring.
Looks epic on a simple chain or added to a bunch of charms on a chunky chain!
