A large scale Victorian 15ct gold horseshoe pendant.

The 15ct gold horseshoe is set with alternating rubies and old cut diamonds to represent the horseshoe nails.

With the traditional four ‘nails’ on one side and three on the other, the horseshoe is a symbol of good luck.

The setting for the stones is open back which allows the maximum amount of light into the stones for extra sparkle, and makes the pendant perfect for everyday wear.

The pendant has a gorgeous slightly matte gold finish which is achieved with a mercury gold gilding that was typically used on jewellery of this period to achieve the matte buttery finish.

The horseshoe hangs from a simple bail, which fits most chains.

CONDITION

Very good; a small area of gilding is missing above the bottom diamond, revealing the gold base. Please see last picture for details

Bracelets & Bangles:

How your bracelet fits is a personal preference.
To check your preferred size, wrap a tape measure loosely around your wrist to the tightness you would like your bracelet to fit.
From the end of the tape measure to the point where it crosses the tape is your desired bracelet length.
Please compare this to the measurements specified on each of our bracelet product pages.
Note, some bracelets are adjustable – this will be mentioned in the description.
Note, if a bangle does not have an opening, you must select one that will pass over your fist.

The measurement will be in cm and inches.
We recommend you place a tape around your neck to see where the chain will sit.

JEWELLERY CARE

Antique Jewellery should be taken care of during wear.

Cleaning and repairs should be carried out by an antique jewellery specialist.

We recommend removing pieces of jewellery before washing hands or showering, as water can damage the antique settings.

Some pieces are not recommended for everyday wear

The Old Cut guarantees the piece up until the new customer receives the item.

Any stones that are lost or damaged during wear are not covered by The Old Cut. These will be charged for replacement, we can of course help find a suitable jeweller to support repairs.
