An exquisite early 19th century triple snake fob pendant made of 18ct gold.

Two of the finely detailed ouroboros snakes wrap around to create the fob frame, biting their tails in their mouths, with the third coiled at the top to create the bail.

The intaglio is made of a smooth green bloodstone with red flecks.

It depicts a phoenix upon a garter that is inscribed in Latin;

‘Altius tendo’, which translates to

‘I reach higher’ or I aim higher’

The centre has gothic initials that appear to read ‘AR’

Both the garter and the ouroboros snake symbol represent; loyalty, strength, and the concept of ‘eternity’ and ‘love everlasting’.

The fob is in wonderful condition, and I have never seen a three snake fob before!

Looks epic on a simple or chunky chain
