VICTORIAN 15CT GOLD BRAMAH KEY PENDANT

A lovely chunky Victorian Bramah key pendant made of yellow 15ct gold.

The key, designed with the signature Bramah castle turret end, has been beautifully chased all over including the bit and the chunky circular bow.

I love how each Bramah key I find is completely unique, clearly designed individually for their owners.

It looks epic on a simple fine chain or added to a chunky Albert.

Circa 1840/1850

The Bramah lock was invented by Joseph Bramah in 1784.

It became famous as the first key and lock to be ‘unpickable’.

The Bramah locks were used for many purposes, but very often for jewellery boxes.

The keys would be worn around the owners neck disguised as a piece of jewellery.

I’m a collector and admirer of key jewellery, and this one does not disappoint.
