VICTORIAN 9CT GOLD & TURQUOISE LUCKY BEAN PENDANT

A super cute mini Victorian Lucky Bean pendant made of 9ct gold and set with a tiny cabochon Turquoise.

Simple in design but super stylish and easy to wear alone or with a group of charms.

There is a partially legible hallmark on the reverse for Birmingham 9ct gold.

Lucky beans were popular during the Victorian and Edwardian periods.

The charms were inspired by the "sea beans" that were found occasionally washed up on European beaches after travelling on the ocean from far flung places.

These beans amazingly could still germinate after many months at sea, this led people to believe that they must be infused with powerful good luck. Ad have since been given as gifts to bring luck and good fortune.
