A gorgeous chunky late Victorian double Lion head bangle by Georg Adam Scheid.
The bangle has a sprung hinge, which closes securely around the wrist, where both lion heads meet.
The Lions who are bearing their teeth emerge from beautifully chased foliate collars.
The modelling and level of detail is wonderful.
The bangle is made of silver and bears the makers mark G.A.S for Georg Adam Scheid.
Georg Adam Scheid was a talented gold and silversmith with premises on the Gumpendorferstraße Vienna from 1882-1903. Georg was well known for his exquisite creations which include vesta, cigarette and vanity cases, and silver accessories, jewellery boxes and writing sets which are still hugely popular today.
Internal diameter approx: 17.5cm
Weight approx: 34g
There are a few dings in the bangle - see pictures, however the overall condition is good for the age of the piece.
